Pick-Up Lines That Work

Most pick-up lines don't work because they are trite, cheesy, and closed-ended statements. Others don't work because of their overt sexual overtones. The pick-up lines that do work tend to follow the three immutable rules:

1) The pick-up line should be in the form of a question.

Most pick-up lines are just stale closed-ended statements. Take for instance the pick-up line: "Baby I'm no Fred Flinstone, but I can cake your Bedrock." This type of statement pick-up line doesn't make it easy for a girl to respond. When a pick-up line is in the form of a question it fosters conversation.

For example, if you use the pick-up line "Do I look fat in these jeans?" you make it very easy for the girl to engage in conversation.

2) The pick-up line should be humorous and tasteful.

You want the girl to laugh or smile, not to slap you in the face. Take for instance the pick-up line: "Why don't you sit in my lap and we'll talk about whatever pops up first." This type of sex-based pick-up line might make your buddies chuckle but the girl will most likely be offended and take you for a pervert.

On the other hand if you take a pick-up line such as "Have you seen a smile around here?" your humor will be welcomed. You will always win using pick-up lines that are humorous and tasteful.

3) The pick-up line should be original.

No one likes to hear the same joke twice and the same goes for pick-up lines. If you've heard the line before then it's best to choose a different one. To be safe, try to mix in a current news topic such as: "Do you think Peter Jennings smokes in Heaven?" The humor here may be a bit dark for a bubbly blond but I think you get my drift.
